UK Cruise Industry Veteran Stuart Perl Appointed to Lead Expansion

Calabasas, CA - (Jan. 5, 2016) - AmaWaterways today announced the opening of a new sales and marketing office in the United Kingdom. The office, located in Guildford, Surrey, will officially open on September 1, 2016 and will be led by cruise and river cruise industry veteran Stuart Perl. AmaWaterways was launched in 2002 by river cruise veteran Rudi Schreiner and co-owner Kristin Karst. Since 2008, AmaWaterways has been represented in the United Kingdom by Fred. Olsen Travel, under the leadership of Managing Director Steve Williams, who will continue to work very closely with AmaWaterways as a preferred travel partner once the new office opens. “I am grateful for the commitment Fred. Olsen Travel has shown to our business over the years, and look forward to continuing our relationship with them as a preferred partner,” said Rudi Schreiner. “As we transition into our next stage of growth, we are excited about the opportunity that exists and look forward to bringing the beauty of river cruising to the European travel market.” AmaWaterways is pleased to announce the appointment of Stuart Perl as Managing Director of the new UK office. In this new position, Perl will oversee all of AmaWaterways’ UK and Europe sales and marketing efforts. Previously, Perl served as marketing director for Cunard Line, managing director for Peter Deilmann River & Ocean Cruises and most recently, ran his own company as UK representative for river cruise lines selling groups and charters through the UK travel trade. “I am honored to become part of the AmaWaterways family and to enhance the efforts that have already been implemented here and across Europe,” said Perl. “River cruising continues to expand in popularity with today’s active affluent travelers and I look forward to our AmaWaterways team building even stronger relationships with our current trade partners and developing new trade partnerships to ensure that AmaWaterways continues to lead the way in this thriving sector.”
